On August 2nd, 2024, 7 pm, I played a solo recital at the Dreieinigkeitskirche in Regensburg. The title of the program is In Search of Meaning and Peace (Auf der Suche nach Sinn und Ruhe).

Our time today is characterized by terrible events (wars, hatred), fear, dissatisfaction and fake news. Right now it is necessary to come to rest and think constructively from this calm. This program wants to contribute to this. Works by Bach from different suites and in contrast from the here and now compositions by Leo Brouwer and Rainer Stegmann are heard.

On the 6th July 2024, Der Lattenzaun, the first of my 3 Galgenlieder based on poems by Christian Morgenstern, has been premiered successfully at the Jugendmusikschule Hamburg. My version for vocal ensemble, two violins and piano was very well recieved by the audience. The performers were the Ensemble Mehrstimmig under the direction of Constanze Heller.

In search of meaning and peace

On the 2nd August, 2024, 7 p.m., solo recital in the Dreieinigkeitskirche Regensburg as part of the concert series Stunde der Kirchenmusik. Works for guitar solo by J.S. Bach, Leo Brouwer and Rainer Stegmann.

The concert on the 1st June 2024 in the Niedermünsterkirche Regensburg took place in a wonderful atmosphere in a fully occupied church.

Après la Guerre has been recorded on CD on May 8, 2024, by the Bohuslav Martinú Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Gevorg Sargsyan in Zlin, Czech Republic. The recording took place at the Filharmonia, a big concert hall with phenomenal acoustics. Now I´m looking forward to the publication of the CD.

After the premiere of APRÈS LA GUERRE at Carnegie Hall, New York

After my composition Après la guerre for orchestra has won a Call for Scores competition of the Progressive Musicians in New York, it was premiered on April 4, 2024, at the Laureate Gala at Carnegie Hall, New York. The performers were the New York Chamber Players under the baton of Maestro Giacomo Franci. It was very exciting to hear my work live at such a famous location!

In order to get a sound impression of the work, I refer to a recording with virtual instruments that has been published on youTube in combination with an image collage, s.  Video

There is also an interview about the creation of the work, s.  Video

On October, 23, 2023, my composition Strange Bird Singing in the Night for alto flute has been performed by the flutist Sofia Mihailovic at the International Festival of Contemporary Music UNICUM in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Great performance! Thank you very much, Sofia!
